Form Handling .NET

So does anyone know how often the Knowledge Base is updated. I am trying to set up native forms within Cascade using the following instructions: http://www.hannonhill.com/kb/cast/form/index.html. We are using .NET with .aspx. The instructions are pretty clear until step number three where it seems to say you need to create a page within a folder, but in the example they seem to be referring to a file, "form-config.xml", not a folder. They then say to apply the new data definition to that page. Well you can't apply data definitions to a page. It seems you can only apply DDs to content types and then apply content types to pages. It also says to apply your configuration set to your page, which again you can only do through content types.

Anyway. Pretty confusing. Doe anyone have better resources for setting this up. If not I guess I'll start playing with Spectate

    Hi Brandon,

We do try to update the Knowledge Base often, but the section you stumbled upon is admittedly way out of date. The CAST section contained working examples at the time that it was published, but many of the articles are from the Cascade 4.x series. So, while some of them may still be applicable, there may be others that don't work as stated. We'll likely be pulling that section from the website to prevent confusion in the near future, but the articles may help to at least provide ideas on how to accomplish certain things in the meantime.

I do think you'll find that forms within Spectate will make this pretty simple. If you aren't already familiar with Spectate, check out this page which contains information for Cascade Server customers and also includes a link (at the bottom) to sign up for a free group training session.

Let me know if you have any further questions.

    Thanks
