Attaching files to websites
We are using this system to post our IU Drumline website. (www.iudrumline.com)
I would like to link documents to my website, but can't figure out how? What are the steps to add files to the website, and then link them? I'd like to add WORD and PDF files. As well, picture files.
Does the same procedure apply to inserting pictures on a given webpage?
Thanks.

Hi Joel,
If you have an Asset Factory set up for images, files would added/edited/published in the same manor (using the File Asset Factory Type).
Let me know if you have any other questions about Files.
Thanks.

Thank you for the help link. I am able to download files in the asset factory now. However, I am having trouble inserting picture files, JPEG.
The pictures look good and are formated correct in Cascade, but when I look at them on the web they are empty boxes with a red X at the top left corner.
What step did I miss?? Why aren't they going live online?

Hi Joel,
It seems as though the image, and perhaps the folder, have no been published yet. Double-check to make sure the folder
files/miscImagesexists on your server as well as the imageBrainard Bio Pic.Also, while looking at the HTML, I noticed the image doesn't have an extension on it. Make sure the File has the appropriate extension within Cascade prior to publishing both the file and the page.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks.

Hi Ryan,
I don't know anything about extensions, or how that works.
I clicked on the file (which IS in the correct folder) and clicked publish & submit. I recieve a message that says, "An error occureed during publishing. The folder hierarch does not allow this asset to be published."

Hi Joel,
This message typically indicates that one of its parent folders are not set to be published. To check if a Folder is publishable:
Please let us know if you have any questions.
